CUE THE CALM
Got Questions? We've Got Answers!
Here are some frequently asked questions to help you on your journey.
ByeByeCry® comes equipped with a locking switch (the child lock!). More than likely, the machine is locked and that is why you can’t turn it on or off. Flip the switch to unlock the child lock and your buttons will work!
ByeByeCry® works best in close proximity to your baby. We recommend a distance of approximately 1-3 feet for the most effective results. Place within 1 foot for 1 minute and slowly move the device away from the baby, keeping within 3 feet. It’s important that the noise level is high enough to catch the baby’s attention. Allow them to interact with the sound. The goal of the sounds is to stop your baby’s fussiness and cries. Consult with your pediatrician if you have further questions or concerns about volume or the length of time you should be playing the device.
Both! You can set the timer for increments of 60 minutes or 120 minutes. If you don’t want to use the timer, simply allow it to play continuously!
The sound machine can run continuously for up to 16 hours, but because parents of babies with colic rely on our machine so often, we recommend charging it daily so you are never caught without it.
Super-easy to charge
Connect the USB to your car, laptop, outlet, etc.
Charges to a full battery in 3 hours
Pro Tip: If you use the sound machine overnight, charge it first thing in the morning so it's fully charged the next time you need it.
Use the + and - buttons to adjust the volume!
Simply press the + button once to turn the volume up one level
Press the - button once to turn the volume down one level
Press and hold the top right power button for 2-3 seconds. Do the same for shutting off the device.
About the size of a hockey puck (but a lot lighter!).
Product Dimensions: 3.6” x 3.6” x 1.5”

These sounds are soothing for infants because they mimic sounds a baby can hear in the womb. Since the womb is where a baby first develops self-soothing skills, it’s not surprising that when they hear a similar noise, it can have a calming effect. Babies in utero experience background noise ranging from 85 to 95 decibels. The sounds outside the womb can help distract a fussy baby and allow for soothing to begin.

We all need a little soothing sometimes. ByeByeCry® is specifically tailored to help calm fussy babies, but the peaceful sounds can work for everyone, regardless of age! Maybe you’re working or studying or you find yourself needing a little quiet time. Switch on your favorite background sound and let the calm commence. Enjoy!
We're glad you asked! The music note button houses the 5 soothing sounds for anytime (ocean, fan, rain, shushing, classical music). Simply click the button once to go to the next sound. The heartbeat button houses the 5 colic soothing sounds (jackhammer, chainsaw, vacuum, hairdryer, lawnmower)!
The ByeByeCry® sound machine was dedicated to and designed for babies with colic and parents who are trying to soothe them. With five unconventional sounds to soothe colicky babies and five peaceful sounds for when colic subsides, it’s a perfect one-size-fits-all sound machine for all infants.
ByeByeCry® is an everlasting system of support – it’ll grow with your baby as they outgrow colic. And, if your family grows, ByeByeCry® will be there to help soothe your future babies, too.
First, call your pediatrician and check to see that the baby’s needs are met to eliminate physical, health-related reasons for fussiness. Make sure the baby has a dry, clean diaper, is fed, etc. Once you’ve ruled out the basic needs and the baby continues to fuss, turn on ByeByeCry®.
We found that our colicky babies had a couple of favorite sounds, but sometimes changing one colic sound to another would do the trick. Don’t give up! Keep trying different colic sounds on the machine until you find what your baby likes best.
Anytime your baby is fussy or crying! It is portable, so you can take it with you anytime – day or night… whenever your baby needs to be soothed.
Use during feedings, diaper changes, and during that infamous evening witching hour. The witching hour is a time of increased fussiness for a baby and normally occurs in the evening. It can last for a few hours and may overlap with evening fussiness for colicky babies.1

Absolutely. And we recommend it! Often, the ByeByeCry® sound machine may be enough to soothe your fussy little one. Other times, you may need to use more tools in your parenting toolkit, together with the sounds of ByeByeCry®. Soothing methods (car rides, swaddling, baby swings, gentle swaying, strolling, wearing the baby, pacifiers, etc.) offer extra support when used with the sound machine. The recorded sounds may work like magic all by themselves, but why not incorporate all of these techniques when calming your baby?
It can! This doesn’t mean it will. Your baby may refuse to eat – even when they are hungry – but accept the bottle/breast if the colic sounds are playing. If it doesn't work the first couple of times, we encourage you to keep trying it. It can relax them enough to be able to accept a bottle/breast… Especially, if you’ve noticed your baby prefers one specific colic sound (i.e., they have a favorite).
When a baby is in a mother’s womb, the background noise experienced by the unborn baby ranges from 85 to 90 decibels. Mirroring this, we have designed ByeByeCry® to mimic this experience for an infant. The decibel level of ByeByeCry® ranges from 85 to 90 decibels.
We recommend tailoring the machine to fit your baby’s needs. Start with a volume that your baby can hear when crying. Then lower the volume once the baby is engaged, allowing for a continuous soothing effect.
Be sure to keep the device within 1-3 feet from your child.
Unfortunately, no. Our sound machine isn’t a cure-all. It’s meant to soothe and calm your little one, as well as lend a helping hand to caregivers. ByeByeCry® is a BIG part of the solution by supporting your child and helping you get through the colicky months, but it is not a medical solution. ByeByeCry® is not designed to diagnose, treat, cure or prevent any health condition including colic. Please consult your pediatrician for a medical remedy that works for your baby.
Good question. Technically, it’s both! ByeByeCry® is a baby sound machine that includes white noise options. The machine has 5 soothing sounds that provide background or “white” noise. The addition of the 5 sounds for colic helps classify the device as a sound machine. It has both white noise and sound options.
We love our adorable hedgehog! These creatures can be both prickly and cuddly, much like a colicky baby. When they are frightened or annoyed, hedgehogs will roll into a ball so that a predator will feel the full brunt of its sharp spines and will leave the hedgehog alone. They become tense and curl up super tight. When they feel better, they sprawl out, their quills go down, and they relax. Did we mention they’re adorable?
